Loving Hut – Addison

Ever since Dallas Vegan announced there would be a Loving Hut opening in Addison I haven’t been able to contain my excitement. The location is 2 minutes from where I work. I actually pass it every day on the way. A few days ago I noticed that the sign was now up and started wondering how much longer I would have to wait to try their food. Last night I see on twitter Dallas Vegan announcing their soft opening. I couldn’t wait to go so I went for lunch today. Well.. Momma Veg and I had an amazing lunch.

When arriving there were a few notes on the door. The first one was advertising their $8.95 buffet. Second was announcing that they were only accepting cash since they didn’t have their credit card machine working yet. Luckily we had cash.  We both had the buffet which is the best way to try things off their menu. Since there were 2 of us we were able to try everything. I went down one side of the buffet while Momma Veg went down the other. After getting a little bit of everything we sat down and literally ate off each other’s plates. Everything was delicious and the staff were really nice. Here are photos from our visit.

ON THE BUFFET...

Seaweed Salad - House Bean Salad - Pickled Cabbage
Broccoli Salad - Mixed Veg Salad - Green Salad

Fried Rice Noodle - Mapo Tofu - House Curry Tofu
Healthy Sesame Balls - Chef’s Special Green Beans - House Fried Protein

Loving Hut Soup - Sweet-n-Sour Soup
Steamed Rice - Guru Fried Rice
Crisps - Fried Spring Roll

OUR FOOD....

Thank you Loving Hut Addison for a great lunch. We will be back soon.

EarthyVeg’s THREE CITY ADVENTURE - DAY TWELVE

CITY #3 – Washington, DC

Day Six

Our last day in DC. We saw the Smithsonian Castle, Freer (peacock room was gorgeous), American History Museum, and went back to the National Gallery again to buy something at the gift shop.

Smithsonian Castle

American History Museum

Lincoln's Hat (American History Museum)

We had lunch at Busboys and Poets for the second time. We had quesadillas again but this time we tried the vegan burger.

Since we were leaving the next day we decided to go back to the hotel early and relax but first we grabbed one more Vegan Chickn Java sandwiches at Java Green and a Pumpkin Spice cake (by Sweet & Natural) to take back to the hotel.

CITY #3 – Washington, DC

Day Five

We walked to the Marriott Gateway to rent a car to drive down to Charlottesville, VA. It took much longer than expected to get there. We toured Thomas Jefferson’s home Monticello. Had lunch in their cafeteria where they surprisingly had a hummus vegan wrap then headed back to the Marriott to return the car.

CITY #3 – Washington, DC

Day Four

We had to catch the Metro early to get to the Capital for a 9:00am tour. They have those tours extremely organized. No wonder you can still get a tour the same day. They have a tour of 30 people or more every 10-15 minutes.

We walked to the National Archives and were able to get right in. We had tried to get in the night before but there was a 20 minute wait so we left. We went to Chinatown and ate at ZPizza.

We rode the metro back to VA and saw the Pentagon Memorial then to Arlington Cemetery.

Later, we walked to Chipotle for dinner at the Crystal City Shops.

EarthyVeg’s THREE CITY ADVENTURE - DAY NINE

CITY #3 – Washington, DC

Day Three

We walked around the Tidal Basin (Jefferson Memorial, FDR, MLK, Korean, and John Paul Jones statute). This was a good walk.

Next we ate lunch at CafĂ© Green. I was so bummed to find out they were having brunch and that you couldn’t order off the regular menu. We ended up just ordering the Nachos Grande to split.

Finally nachos that didn’t just use Daiya. They were great and are in 2nd place behind Spiral for best nachos. Next we went to the Women in the Arts museum to find some more paintings by my artist.  Again, not disappointed.

Then we took a trip up to Sticky Fingers where we got a Chik’n Ranch Wrap, a cinnamon roll, a Strawberry lemon cupcake, and a regular Strawberry cupcake. Everything was awesome.
